Charity

"Together, we celebrate. As a community we help.
As a community, we want to help others, who are not as fortunate as we are."

The employees of AGI Lux gathered 384,20 Euros and the company doubled to 768,40 Euros. Thank you all!!

At the end 100.000 Euros were collected for the two charity projects:

The Jesu Ashram Hospital in India
"At the service of the destitute, sick and poor" reads the sign at the entry of the Jesu Ashram. The hospital serves the ones, who are in desperate need of help. For the people at the Jesu Ashram, this service is very often the last hope.
Located in the district of Darjeeling, famous for its tea, and close to the biggest higway in the region, the Jesu Ashram is passed by a lot of people every day. But rarely, someone stops to take a look at the people there, at the work they do and at their patients.
"The Jesu Ashram consists of four stations", as Dorothea Kudla tells us, a young German woman who served a Voluntary Year of Social Service at the Jesu Ashram. "There is the General Station, and the three Special Stations, where HIV, Lepra and Tuberculosis are treated."
The patients come with all kinds of diseases. "The stations are usually very full," Dorothea says. Still, the Jesu Ashram takes care of everybody in need. "We give every patient a bed and a blanket," Dorothea tells us.
This is not the normal situation in India. "At state hospitals, people have to wait for beds. Meanwhile, nobody takes care off them, they have so sleep on the floor without a blanket or any food." This does not happen at the Jesu Ashram.
Here, the patients receive medical attention and even more. "Our patients are part of the every-day activities at the Jesu Ashram", Dorothea tells us. They help with the laundry, they prepare the food, they engage in games and leasure activities.
Obviously, this is because there is not enough money to employ more staff. But more importantly, "this helps to build a feeling of family, a sense of community," Dorothea explains. "We want to give our patients the feeling of security, well being and home."

The International Children’s Safety Service

Allianz Hungária will support the INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S SAFETY SERVICE (ICSS). This non-profit organization is helping children in need by giving financial, social and health related support and subsistence. The ICSS was founded in 1990 in Hanover, Germany, and its ideas quickly became internationally famous. Its founders decided to build a charity helping children beyond all political, religious and nationality-related aims.
The Hungarian association was founded during a session-break of the first freely-elected Hungarian Parliament in May 1990. ICSS patrons are amongst others Dr. Árpád Göncz, former president of the Hungarian Republic and Dr. Roman Herzog, former president of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Since its establishment, the ICSS became one of the most important non-governmental welfare organizations in Hungary. The scope of its work is extremely versatile.
The ICSS covers the cost of medicine and medical aid, examinations and operations as well as hospital care. Also, the ICSS runs a Children Feeding Program, a Foster-Parent Program, a Holiday Program, and of course Educational and Post-Graduate Programs.
In other words, the International Children's Safety Service supports children in need of help, no matter what kind of assistance is needed.
